Database Manager

Administered the collections database, The Museum System (TMS), which houses over 84,000 object records and 120,000 related records
Managed collections information, cataloguing standards, documentation and data quality assurance
Created and maintained Crystal Reports, SSRS reports, custom data views, list views and SQL mail alerts
Ensured systems integrations, including the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), the DIA’s collection on the website, an API and internal applications
In collaboration with the Digital Asset Manager and vendors was successful in planning the initial migration of digital assets from TMS into the DAMS and implementing the final bi-directional integration. Designed the metadata schema for art objects in DAMS
Using SQL, migrated the complete DIA’s exhibition history from a flat FileMaker file, parsing and indexing data into the database’s relational tables, along with other legacy databases creating over 2,000 new exhibition records
Co-designed the information facet of the Collections Access Project, an enterprise initiative to publish the entire collection of the artwork to the website.
Provided excellent internal customer service in training staff. Worked cross-departmentally to streamline the flow of information, decrease duplicate data entry efforts and improve business processes and access to centralized data
Completed complex queries, data mining, and data scrubbing projects. Exported data and reporting on the art collection during the bankruptcy trails which eventually resulted in the Grand Bargain
Mentored younger staff, predominantly women, in “Everyone 🖤’s SQL Club”
Served on the DIA’s cross-departmental Accessibility Team, advocating for both visitors and staff with disabilities
